If not, then the fate of America -- and of Western nations, including Israel -- will be left in the hands of a man with a lifelong hostility to Western values and Western interests.

President Obama is such a genial man that many people, across the ideological space, cannot see him as a danger.

A genial corrupter is all the more dangerous for being genial.
For every hundred people who can see his geniality, probably only a handful see the grave danger his warped policies and ruthless tactics pose to a whole way of life that has given generation after generation of Americans unprecedented freedom and prosperity.

The election next November will not be just another election, and the stakes add up to far more than the sum of the individual issues.

There is no law mandating release of tax returns. What we do know is that he took no salary when he was governor of Massachusetts or when he saved the Winter Olympic games. He and his wife probably have donated millions of dollars to charity. Good for them.

It would be fascinating to know if Mitt Romney is elected president, would accept a salary or not.

Americans should want a successful person to be president. We should
want someone who understands how the free market truly works. We should
reward and praise success, not try to find ways to condemn it or cast
aspersions on successful people.

It would be refreshing to hear every candidate state: “I made my money legally. How much money I
made, have and donate is none of your business. What I can tell you is
that if elected president, I will do the job for free. I also will work
my hardest to ensure that any barriers that prohibit you from achieving
your dreams will be terminated with extreme prejudice on my first day in
office.”

Let’s make sure we don’t condemn success but, instead, praise it. Let’s
focus on things that matter most, not whether a candidate releases his
tax return.

Rendell The Philly Thug At It Again

Philadelphia’s two daily newspapers have long been accused of liberal bias, but critics say a group of potential buyers led by former Gov. Ed Rendell would turn the papers into mere mouthpieces of the Democratic Party in a 2012 swing state.
Mr. Rendell, a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is teaming with George Norcross, the Democratic Party boss of southern New Jersey, and others in an effort to purchase the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Daily News and the company’s website, philly.com.
There is reportedly at least one other bidder for the media company, the most influential in Pennsylvania, though that party has not publicly identified itself.
“The prospect of Rendell’s group owning the newspapers is like the foxes watching the henhouse and all of the sacred cows,” said Paul Davies, former deputy editorial page editor at the Inquirer. “Essentially, the Inquirer will cease to exist as a legitimate newspaper. It will become the insiders’ house organ.”
Mr. Rendell said on a talk-radio show this week that this deal would not be the first time powerful people with an “ideological bent,” such as Rupert Murdoch, have tried to purchase a media company. He also noted that the 183-year-old Inquirer was owned for decades by Republican businessman Walter Annenberg, and said his group is simply trying to save the financially troubled papers.
“Nobody wants to stifle news,” said Mr. Rendell, a two-term mayor of Philadelphia in the 1990s.
Journalists at both papers are so concerned that nearly 300 of them signed a public statement last week calling on the current and any future owners to protect the integrity of their reporting. They said the current owner, Philadelphia Media Network (PMN), has censored their coverage of the sale.
“As The Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News and Philly.com have gone up for sale once again, we watched with dismay as our own coverage of the process was compromised and censored,” the statement says.
PMN Publisher Greg Osberg denied any censorship.
PMN acquired the papers in bankruptcy proceedings in 2010 from a local group of owners led by Republican businessman Brian Tierney.
During his turbulent tenure as publisher in the heavily Democratic city, Mr. Tierney came under fire for bringing aboard conservative columnists at the Inquirer such as Rick Santorum, now a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, and John Yoo, a Bush administration official who helped write the legal justification for “enhanced interrogation techniques” against terrorism suspects.
Enhanced interrogation was on the mind of the loquacious Mr. Rendell, who became so exasperated at the uproar about his potential ownership of the papers that he pledged not to talk about it anymore.
“You’re going to have to waterboard me,” he told a reporter.
His vow of silence ended two days later, when he told WPHT-AM in Philadelphia that his group of investors would consider a pledge of noninterference with the newspapers’ coverage.
“Our group, I’m certain, would be willing to enter into some agreement with the reportorial staff that we wouldn’t influence any of their news reporting,” Mr. Rendell said.
Observers say Democratic ownership of the papers probably wouldn’t alter their track records in endorsing candidates. The Inquirer, for example, hasn’t endorsed a Republican for president since at least the 1960s, with the exception of 2008. Four years ago, under Mr. Tierney, the paper took the unusual step of endorsing both Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain for president in the general election.
Mr. Obama carried Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Journalists say potential conflicts abound with the prospective owners. For example, Mr. Norcross is a kingmaker in New Jersey Democratic politics whose brother, Donald, is a state senator. Other investors in Mr. Rendell’s group include parking magnate Lewis Katz and Ed Snider, chairman of Comcast Spectacor and owner of the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team.
“It’s just a mess right now,” said a member of one of the papers’ staffs, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
Former Daily News editor Zack Stalberg, who led the paper when it was owned by Knight-Ridder Inc., said the turmoil at the papers makes him “nostalgic for chain journalism.”

Is This Your "Christian President" At Work?

One of the main news topics this past week involved President Obama’s mandate that Catholic and other religious institutions were required to provide free medical coverage for birth control. Then the president seemed to offer an olive branch, but upon closer examination the branch turned out to be deadly hemlock and not olive. He said that the insurance companies would have to provide the free birth control to the employees of religious institutions, which is virtually the same disregard for strong religious beliefs and to many Americans an outright violation of the First Amendment.

In all of the news and discussions, no one paid any attention to the effects this was having on our military personnel, especially the chaplains. The Catholic Church had issued a denomination wide letter in which they informed parishioners that the Church “cannot and will not comply with this unjust law.”

The Army immediately issued orders to all chaplains, especially Catholic chaplains that they are not allowed to read the letter in its entirety and that certain portions of it are to be blacked out and not read aloud. Former Navy chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt said,

“The secretary of the Army said you have to line out some of the language, or else we’re going to charge the chaplains with sedition and treason for opposing the Obama administration. Can you believe this? They are actually threatening chaplains with court-martial if they dare to preach against sin in their own church.”

First the Pentagon tells all chaplains that they are required to ignore their religious beliefs and perform same-sex marriages or unions for military personnel requesting such services. Then they told all military chaplains that they had to make their facilities available for same-sex union ceremonies.

Klingenschmitt reports that he was literally forced to resign his commission as a Navy chaplain after he had prayed publicly in the name of Jesus while wearing his Navy uniform.

Now the Pentagon is telling chaplains that they cannot preach against mandated birth control coverage or the sanctity of life without facing the serious charges of sedition and treason.

If Obama is re-elected in November, I would not be surprised to see his administration force all Christian chaplains to never mention anything about the Bible, Jesus Christ or preach against any sin. They’ll be turned into nothing more than secular counselors. But Muslim chaplains will be allowed to speak of Allah and publicly pray to Allah aloud.

I have decided that I must go against the grain at this point (as tends to be my way more often than not). I was raised in western PA and I know Rick Santorum's history better than most. I see a man who also lives by his convictions and his principles. A true heart and faith in God may not win the day against the Obama Regime in the bitter feud yet to come. Yet, I do see an opportunity to present a REAL dichotomy in what WE see and what THEY see as the future of our nation. The lines must be drawn HERE AND NOW. I see only one man with the spirit and drive to make the distinctions that must be made between the Leftist view and what the majority of Americans believe.

Fox News host Eric Bolling shocked his co-hosts on "Fox and Friends" when he told Rep. Maxine Waters to "step away from the crack pipe" on Thursday.

Bolling quickly said that he was "kidding."

Waters stirred up anger on the right when video surfaced on Wednesday showing her calling House Republican leaders John Boehner and Eric Cantor "demons."

On Thursday, Bolling and co-host Steve Doocy took turns bashing Waters for the remarks. But Bolling took things to another level.

"Congresswoman, you saw what happened to Whitney Houston," he said. "Step away from the crack pipe, step away from the Xanax, step away from the Lorazepam because it’s going to get you in trouble.”

The other hosts immediately gasped, and Doocy muttered, "she's not using drugs."

“How else do you explain those comments?” Bolling said. When the show returned from a break, Bolling quickly backtracked. "I just want to say I was kidding about the crack pipe," he said. "Just kidding.”

Dave Mustaine, one-time Metallica guitarist and founder of the speed-metal band Megadeth, has made clear his intention to endorse Rick Santorum, though he and his band are prepared to support anyone nominated against Barack Obama:

Radical Islamists ransacked the national museum last week destroying 99% of the pre-Islamic exhibits that dated back to the 6th Century.

CBS News reported, via Religion of Peace:

The Maldives’ national museum reopened Tuesday without some of its most valuable exhibits a week after a mob of suspected religious extremists smashed images from the pre-Islamic era of this Indian Ocean archipelago.

About 35 exhibits — mostly images of Buddha and Hindu gods — were destroyed in the attack. Some of the artifacts dated back to the sixth century, museum director Ali Waheed said.

Waheed says 99 percent of the Maldives’ pre-Islamic artifacts from before the 12th century, when most inhabitants were Buddhists or Hindus, were destroyed.

“Some of the pieces can be put together but mostly they are made of sandstone, coral and limestone, and they are reduced to powder,” he said.

The mob of suspected Muslim extremists attacked the museum during the Maldives’ unfolding political crisis. The country has seen weeks of protests and last week President Mohamed Nasheed stepped down. He later said he was forced to resign at gunpoint.

The attack was the latest blow to the island nation that is best known as a high-end tourist destination.

“We are very sad. This is the physical and archaeological evidence of the country, we have nothing to show (of the pre-Islamic history),” Waheed said.

But if you read the San Francisco Chronicle this weekend, you would know that the former green jobs czar who resigned after he was exposed as a 9/11 truther is back on the rise.* In fact, one of the paper’s blogs dubbed him a “star” again after his speech at the California Democratic Convention — a convention, mind you, filled with praise for the Occupy Movement. A movement that, ironically, was protesting the event.

What do you get when you cross Van Jones, the Occupy movement, Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsom and the rest of the California Democratic Party? Why, a veritable orgy of mutual admiration and clueless self-congratulation.

It all came to a head this weekend at the California Democratic Convention in San Diego, where Van Jones was treated like a rock star even as he sang the praises of the Occupiers and engaged in blatant class warfare.

What this story entails is the ongoing battle that the Left has been waging for years against indoor plumbing. The "waterless" toilets described here are nothing more than indoor outhouses. Having experienced these facilities before, upon entering them, one is assailed by the lovely aroma of an unattendened porta-potty on a 90 degree August afternoon. Students step over ‘rivers of urine’ after green bathrooms plan for waterless urinals turns a high school yellow… and it will cost $500,000 to fix.

Students at a high school in Boca Raton, Florida, must step over rivers of urine and endure the stench of rancid waste after a plan to bring ‘green’ waterless urinals into bathrooms backfired.

School officials at Spanish River High School thought they had found an environmentally-friendly, cost-saving solution for their bathrooms when they installed Falcon Waterfree urinals in their boys bathrooms.

But with no water moving through the school’s copper pipes to flush the urine into the sewer system, the waste produced noxious gases that ate through the metal, leaving leaky pipes that allowed urine to drip into walls and flow onto floors.

‘It was pretty disgusting,’ school board chairman Frank Barbieri told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

‘The girls had to step over a river of urine. I could smell it as soon as I walked into the hallway.’

Now, the school district, which was hoping to save $100 a year in water costs for each waterless urinal, must pay $500,000 to repair the damage and replace the appliances with the traditional flush variety in four high schools.

Neither the school, nor Falcon Waterfree Technologies, the Los Angeles-based maker of the urinals, thought to check the pipes before installing the new urinals.

Instead of water, the company’s urinals use disposables cartridges that trap urine odors. They use no water and the company claims the only maintained needed is regular cleaning and changing the cartridges four times a year.

The company promises ‘an odor-free restroom, clean pipes and zero water waste’ on its website.

But officials admitted corrosive sewer gases ate away at the pipes causing urine to flow into the walls and trickle into the school, instead of into the sewer.

As for the company’s odor-free claims: ‘We’re really concerned because we don’t think it’s a sanitary place for our children to be,’ Mara Shapiro, president of the school’s PTA told the Sun-Sentinel.

‘The hallways reek.’

The school district is looking to Falcon to pay for the mess as they order 200 waterless urinals be replaced with water-efficient urinals.
Somehow I expect there’ll be some litigation involved.

A federal judge for the first time in U.S. history has heard arguments in a case that could determine whether animals enjoy the same constitutional protection against slavery as human beings.

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Miller called the hearing in San Diego after SeaWorld asked the court to dismiss a lawsuit filed by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) that names five orcas as plaintiffs in the case.

PETA claims the captured killer whales are treated like slaves for being forced to live in tanks and perform daily at its parks in San Diego and Orlando, Florida.
"This case is on the next frontier of civil rights," said PETA's attorney Jeffrey Kerr, representing the five orcas.
SeaWorld's attorney Theodore Shaw called the lawsuit a waste of the court's time and resources. He said it defies common sense and goes against 125 years of case law applied to the Constitution's 13th amendment that prohibits slavery between humans.
"With all due respect, the court does not have the authority to even consider this question," Shaw said, adding later: "Neither orcas nor any other animal were included in the 'We the people' ... when the Constitution was adopted."

KASICH ANNOUNCES PUBLIC LOTTERY FOR STATE OF THE STATE TICKETS

COLUMBUS – Today Gov. John R. Kasich announced that a block of tickets to his 2012 State of the State address on Tuesday, February 7, in Steubenville will be distributed to the public via an internet lottery. Interested individuals can register for the ticket lottery at: http://governor.ohio.gov/tickets/

The governor’s State of the State address is historically delivered in the Ohio House of Representatives chamber at the Statehouse in Columbus, where public seating is limited.

This year’s address—the first delivered by a governor outside of the Statehouse—will be delivered to a special joint session of the General Assembly convened at Wells Academy, the top-performing public elementary school in Ohio and part of Steubenville City Schools.

Wells shares a spacious auditorium with the Steubenville High School which allows for more Ohioans to attend.

Names will be collected until 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, and individuals selected for tickets by random lottery will be notified via e-mail by noon on Friday, February 3.

STEUBENVILLE - The eyes of many Ohioans will be upon Steubenville when Gov. John Kasich brings his State of the State address to Steubenville High School at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Members of the Ohio General Assembly, the governor's cabinet and state Supreme Court will be joined in the school's auditorium by many local officials and community members who won tickets through an Internet drawing conducted by the governor's office.

Kasich has said he wanted to take the annual address away from the statehouse and into other communities.

Wells Academy, a Steubenville City Schools elementary, will be lauded by the governor and was chosen because it is the elementary school with the highest state test scores and received other state honors, an accomplishment school officials have attributed in part to a curriculum that emphasizes mastery of reading and math skills.

Gov. John Kasich arrives in a community today that thrived on the steel industry of past decades but prepares to embrace the natural gas and oil industry of the future.
It is also a city that now may be seeing an upturn in its economic future.

"I believe we are seeing the bright light at the end of the tunnel. People are going back to work, and we are starting to see industry coming back to our area," said City Manager Cathy Davison.

City Finance Director Alyssa Kerker recently reported municipal income tax collection rose $70,000 from 2010 to 2011.

Kasich will deliver the annual State of the State address at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Steubenville High School auditorium and is expected to address the growing shale drilling industry in Eastern Ohio.

"I hope the governor focuses on education in our community as well as economic development in our region. We are seeing small businesses interested in opening in Steubenville, and there are a number of entrepreneurs also expressing interest in our community because of the oil and gas industry," remarked Davison.

"I anticipate the governor will see a city on the upswing when he arrives.

"In the past couple of years we have made major upgrades to our streets and roads, and the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, and the Steubenville Revitalization Group has taken the lead in dressing up our downtown. We have seen new businesses in town and construction taking place. This is a city coming back to life," explained Davison.

According to Kasich spokesman Rob Nichols, the area unemployment rate dropped in 2011.

Statistics from the state indicate Jefferson County reported a 13.6 percent unemployment rate in January 2011 compared to a 9.9 percent unemployment rate in December of last year.

Nichols said the governor's speech will include recognition of the shale drilling industry impact on Eastern Ohio.

"Shale, natural gas and energy are a huge component of what we will be doing in Ohio in future years.

"The governor has made it quite clear that he welcomes the energy industry to Ohio but at the same time he has said the state will be watching the industry. We want the industry to do the right thing in Ohio," said Nichols.

"The State of the State address will give the governor a chance to shine a light on the community and the significant economic shot in the arm Eastern Ohio is about to receive," Nichols added.

And Nichols said the governor also will focus on education and the Wells Academy.
"Education is a major issue for the governor and the state in 2012 and going forward.

Members of the 129th General Assembly also are expected in the city to attend the State of State address.

And Nichols said the cabinet members will be at several locations Tuesday including a Department of Development roundtable discussion at the Steubenville University Inn, a roundtable meeting with area military veterans at American Legion Post 33, a visit to the Jefferson County 911 Center and stops at the Steubenville and Jefferson County health departments.

State officials also are expected to tour a Chesapeake oil drilling rig site in Carroll County on Tuesday afternoon.

Mayor Domenick Mucci has called upon all area residents to welcome Kasich to the community today and Tuesday when the state's top lawmaker leads a contingent of state legislators and administration officials to the city.

"We have the opportunity to build on our city's outstanding athletic reputation.

"We have the opportunity to help out-of-town state senators and state representatives to better understand our experienced and dedicated work force. We need to show the friendliness of our city to our visitors," stated Mucci.

"Let the city shine brightly," Mucci added.

STEUBENVILLE - Passersby on state Route 7 or the Veterans Memorial Bridge may have noticed sparks flying from the older Fort Steuben Bridge and heavy equipment parked on it.

That's because crews with the Joseph B. Fay Co. of Russellton, Pa., have begun the first steps in demolishing the 82-year-old span, which was closed in January 2009 by officials with the Ohio Department of Transportation, who said it had become too costly to repair and upgrade it to meet current traffic conditions.

In a brief press release Wednesday, ODOT officials said the crews have begun work to dismantle the outer panels of the 1,584-foot-long span.

They said the $2.3 million demolition project is expected to involve one explosive blast, which is slated to occur in late February or early March.

The officials said at least one northbound and one southbound lane of state Route 7 will remain open throughout the project. They are expected to reveal additional details at a press conference early today.

John Brown, executive director of the Brooke-Hancock-Jefferson Metropolitan Planning Commission, said following the demolition, Steubenville officials plan to convert part of the span's Ohio pier for use as an observation deck, with a pedestrian bridge leading to it and an adjacent parking area.

The contractor has agreed to cut the pier to a specific height and cap it with a concrete base so it may serve as the observation deck.

The span opened in 1928 as a private toll bridge and was the first Ohio River suspension bridge with a concrete floor. It was purchased in 1936 by the State Bridge Commission of Ohio, which removed the toll, though it was reinstated for a time in the 1950s.

The bridge has undergone many renovations, including replacement of the suspension cables in 1941, repairs to a hole in its floor in 1967 and a major rehabilitation in 1972 that included replacing the floor with a concrete-filled steel grid deck.

Other improvements were made in the 1980s and '90s and as late as 2000. But in 2003 ODOT announced plans to close the span, noting the weight limit for the aging span had been lowered in 2004, resulting in less traffic on it. Prior to that, the span was used by many large trucks traveling to and from industries in Weirton. As part of U.S. Route 22 in the 1960s, it carried about 20,000 vehicles daily over the Ohio River.

They added the width of its deck, at just over 20 feet, didn't meet current safety standards and said the cost to upgrade and maintain it wasn't justified.

Perhaps I am reading more into this than is justified, but I have always put great stock in what the Left says and how they employ Saul Alinski tactics when things get a little to hot for them in an adversarial campaign. All the Demoncats are doing is waiting in line, looking for the slightest weakness in any of the surviving candidates, and picking them off one by one as they pop up with some sensitive social issue or another. Any moral or ethical indiscretion will do just as well.

Alinski always said that to be successful in "community organizing" one must be patient and wait for the enemy to make the first move. Never outline your own plans, simply attack and degrade what the other guy proposes, while you attack his character without mercy.

The feeding frenzy is about to begin in earnest as Rick Santorum is marginalized by the MSM and the Republican elite. He will fall quickly by the wayside following the FL primary and the next vulnerable target will be Newt Gingrich.

As has happened so often in the past, we are permitting ourselves (Conservatives and moderates alike) to be led around by the nose as we search desperately for the strongest opponent for Obama. As this smear fest plays itself out, I will remain uncommitted. I have made my choices in the past, and have been rebuffed by the powerful elite at every turn.

All I can say to you now is to make your choice of steed, and stick with him or her. There may come a time yet when your support will be validated. 2012 may not be the year, and the Presidential race may not be the most important one to focus on right now. We must maintain a House majority and work hard for one in the Senate as well. The most fashionable and presentable presidential candidate in the saddle will not win our country back. Our choices are being limited and our focus is being distracted from the more valuable prize here. The retention of our freedoms and the dissolution of the 60's Marxist coalition must be accomplished at any cost in the coming years.

Attorney General Eric Holder’s Department of Justice dumped documents related to Operation Fast and Furious on congressional officials late Friday night. Central to this document dump is a series of emails showing Holder was informed of slain Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s murder on the day it happened – December 15, 2010.

An email from one official, whose name has been redacted from the document, to now-former Arizona U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke reads: “On December 14, 2010, a BORTAC agent working in the Nogales, AZ AOR was shot. The agent was conducting Border Patrol operations 18 miles north of the international boundary when he encountered [redacted word] unidentified subjects. Shots were exchanged resulting in the agent being shot. At this time, the agent is being transported to an area where he can be air lifted to an emergency medical center.”

That email was sent at 2:31 a.m. on the day Terry was shot. One hour later, a follow-up email read: “Our agent has passed away.”

Burke forwarded those two emails to Holder’s then-deputy chief of staff Monty Wilkinson later that morning, adding that the incident was “not good” because it happened “18 miles w/in” the border.

Wilkinson responded to Burke shortly thereafter and said the incident was “tragic.” “I’ve alerted the AG [Holder], the Acting DAG, Lisa, etc.”

Then, later that day, Burke followed up with Wilkinson after Burke discovered from officials whose names are redacted that the guns used to kill Terry were from Fast and Furious. “The guns found in the desert near the murder BP officer connect back to the investigation we were going to talk about – they were AK-47s purchased at a Phoenix gun store,” Burke wrote to Wilkinson.

“I’ll call tomorrow,” Wilkinson responded.

Twitter's New Censorship System and International Internet Law

This little change that Twitter has made to the way that it censors tweets tells us something really quite important about the way that international and national law affects what we do here on the internet.

Twitter has refined its technology so it can censor messages on a country-by-country basis.

The additional flexibility announced on Thursday is likely to raise fears that Twitter’s commitment to free speech may be weakening as the short-messaging company expands into new countries in an attempt to broaden its audience and make more money.

But Twitter sees the censorship tool as a way to ensure individual messages, or tweets, remain available to as many people as possible while it navigates a gauntlet of different laws around the world.

Before, when Twitter erased a tweet it disappeared throughout the world. Now, a tweet containing content breaking a law in one country can be taken down there and still be seen elsewhere.

This is an important point and one that I’ve been banging on about for years. Sadly, all too few seem to understand it even so. The law that guides what we write or say upon the internet is not the law of the jurisdiction in which we write or say it. It is also not the law of whatever jurisdiction hosts the material.

No, we are covered by the law of whatever jurisdiction the material is read in. We’re all liable to the laws of all the countries in which tweets can be (or are) read.

Yes, all 190 odd members of the United Nations, all 250 odd legal jurisdictions around the world. If France has a law against insulting bureaucrats (it does) and you insult a French bureaucrat on the web then you have, at least arguably, just committed a crime in France.

It really is the World Wide Web and we’re subject to the world’s laws on it, not just our own local ones.

Just to give you a direct example. I’m in Germany at the moment writing this. It will be published in the US, by Forbes. I am English and I normally live in Portugal. But the law which governs whether this post is libellous, slanderous etc is not German, English, Portuguese or American. It is the law wherever you are as you read it.

New twist on Birth Certificate issue

It was brought to light that back in 1961 people of color were called ‘Colored’ or 'Negroes.'
So how can this 'birth certificate' state he is 'African-American' when the term wasn't even used back then?? This isn't over! This is interesting!

Here is a comment from a reader to George Ure at Urban Survival.com :

"As you all know, Donald Trump made a big deal about Obama's birth certificate.

I will tell you right now that I had never given this "birther" issue any credit. I watched the hype and the crazies come out. I completely dismissed the entire
ordeal altogether.

In fact, it was not until the White House released the birth certificate that it had gained my attention. I am the studious sort of guy, and I have plenty of time on my hands. So, I took a close look at this document.

While I would have thought that this issue would have been closed for good (and, got the crazies to crawl back into their holes), I found three extremely strange inconsistencies that merit some attention.

Firstof all, the birth certificate that the White House released lists Obama's birth as August 4, 1961. It also lists Barack Hussein Obama as his father. No big deal, right? At the time of Obama's birth, it also shows that his father is aged 25 years old, and that Obama's father was born in " Kenya , East Africa ".

This wouldn't seem like anything of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not even exist until 1963, two whole years after Obama's birth, and 27 years after his father's birth. How could Obama's father have been born in a country that did not yet exist?

Up and until Kenya was formed in 1963, it was known as the " British East Africa Protectorate". But, this is not the only thing that I found that just does not jive.

The second item that I looked into was the hospital that Obama was born in. On the birth certificate released by the White House, the listed place of birth is
"Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital ".
This cannot be, because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were called "Kaui Keolani Children's Hospital" and "Kapi'olani Maternity Home", respectively.

The name did not change to Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital until 1978, when these two hospitals merged. How can this particular name of the
hospital be on a birth certificate dated 1961 if this name had not yet been applied to it until 1978?

Go ahead, look it up. I am not talking crazy talk....these are the facts. Like I said, I thought that this was a non-issue until the actual certificate was released. Now that it has been released, of course I had to look into it. I have found these issues, now I know that something is up. If you doubt me, just look at the following resources:

The third item is when did the term African American first start? It was in the ’80’s. Prior to that the term was Black. In the early ‘60’s the term was Colored and prior to that, Negro. Thus his birth certificate should say, Black, Colored or Negro depending on what part of the country one was born in and which term was used but for sure, the term African American wasn’t used when Obama was born. Trevor Loudon...Kohn, the latest addition to the “Fox News Family,” has argued that the Republican Party is trying to “kill women” by cutting funding for Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the U.S. The Women’s Media Center was founded in 2005 as a “progressive women’s media organization” by writers/activists Jane “Hanoi Jane” Fonda, Robin Morgan and Gloria Steinem.

In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama's qualifications for the presidency, the group "Americans for Freedom of Information" has Released copies of President Obama's college transcripts from Occidental College ... Released today, the transcript school indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship.

This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. Attorney General Eric Holder got a bruising reception from the Republican-dominated House Judiciary Committee that put the Justice Department on the defensive.

Holder answered questions about the botched gun trafficking operation known as "Fast and Furious" in which federal agents tried to build cases against drug cartels. Instead, they lost track of hundreds of weapons that turned up at crime scenes along the Southwest border.

California Republican Darrell Issa, who has led the investigation of Fast and Furious, sought — without success — to force the attorney general to take a formal oath to tell the truth.

Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz hasn’t yet called for Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation or firing over Operation Fast and Furious, but he offered strong words for the embattled attorney general in a Wednesday interview with The Daily Caller.

Chaffetz told TheDC that Holder’s allegation that critics are motivated by racism was a “ridiculous assertion.”

“The Attorney General is always involved in very serious matters,” Chaffetz said. “It’s the nature of the job. If he can’t handle it and thinks it’s somehow based on something other than his performance, maybe it is time for him to get another job.”

In a front page New York Times story on Sunday, Holder alleged that some of his critics — a group he referred to as the “more extreme segment” — are motivated by racism. “This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him,” Holder said of criticism he has received for the Fast and Furious scandal. “Both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.”

Since then, Holder’s Justice Department, through a spokesperson, attacked the attorney general’s critics again for noticing that he inserted race into a the argument about whether or not he’s competent.

Chaffetz sits on both House committees investigating the program — the House Judiciary Committee and the House oversight committee. Chaffetz, House oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa and South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy have been spearheading the lower chamber’s investigation of Fast and Furious.

Chaffetz hasn’t called for Holder’s resignation or firing, despite a growing number of his colleagues doing so. “As somebody who’s continued to question him in committees and other ways, I’ve wanted to hold back a little bit on that,” Chaffetz explained. (RELATED: Full coverage of Eric Holder)

Obummer has apparently turned up the heat on his #1 thug to turn this into a racial issue. The international “sustainable development” freaks want to do stuff like control the size of populations, minimize industrial activity, destroy the corporation, make governments responsible for literally everything, and give the UN a bigger role in economic activity. They believe that a “sustainable” world population is about 900 million. What their plans are for the other 6 billion of us have not been announced.

Within an hour of posting a critical FEMA document sourced publicly on a government website that discloses plans to hire contract employees under a continuity of government plan, that document was removed and replaced by the following cryptic warning against posting ‘classified’ documents:

ATTENTION: Agency users are responsible for properly uploading controlled, unclassified materials to FBO using the access control procedures for document packages and attachments detailed in the FBO Buyers Guide. Do not upload ANY classified materials to FBO.

The government-linked document we posted was marked ‘Source Selection Sensitive’ but not considered classified. Further, it was listed publicly on a government website that was soliciting bids for government contracts. However, despite its public classification, it contains information that clearly is NOT intended to gain wide publicity.

As we reported earlier, the highly contentious federal government plans for Continuity of Government (COG) are largely classified, yet have come to light in shards. Congressman Peter de Fazio made waves after going on the House floor to give a speech raising hell about how the plans for COG, including martial law, were not only classified, but kept secret from Congress, the only organ of public officialdom still tied directly to the people.

However, there are plenty of completely public Homeland Security and FEMA documents detailing parts of the secretive COG plans for a national emergency. Among these is the document covered earlier, as this document reveals not only detailed aspects of the COG personnel relocation plans and martial law takeover of communications, but a plan to militarily-target Americans and designate them as enemy combatants– dramatically, through a blue/red high-tech surveillance matrix aimed at suppressing dissidents and occupying the homeland.

PETA has asked the Department of Transportation in Illinois to commemorate the spot where 16 cows lost their life on May 22 in a traffic accident says a report in the Chicago Tribune.

The cows plunged from the back of a tractor trailer when it jackknifed on a bridge on an I-80 highway overpass.

I’m wondering if we could just have a memorial BBQ. I’ll bring the grill.

You know how people warn you about avoiding stupid mistakes by saying, “You don’t want to be that guy.”

The Curse of Cornstalk, Night Before Christmas

This is not typical Christmas fare, but in response to questions I have received concerning the Silver Bridge collapse; and certain rumors of supernatural influences; I am posting the following update for your edification and enjoyment alone. Weirdness is not uncommon in these parts, and whether this disaster was due to curses or crypto-zoological causes, I will leave for you to decide.

The following is the history of the legendary chieftan and Shaman Cornstalk, whose curse it is said, still wreaks havoc over Appalachian residents.

The Curse of CornstalkPoint Pleasant has seen its share of devastating floods and fires; some attribute it to the dying curse of the great Shawnee chieftain, Cornstalk.
On October 10, 1774 a great battle took place between Virginia militiamen led by Andrew Lewis, and a multi-tribal confederation led by the Shawnee warrior, Cornstalk; this battle took place at the confluence of the Kanawha and Ohio Rivers, later incorporated in 1794 as the town of Point Pleasant. The Native American tribesmen were duped by the British-loyalist Governor of Virginia, Lord Dunmore, into believing the militiamen were coming to sign a peace treaty. The confederation suffered a massive defeat, never to return to the area to fight again; the militiamen suffered heavy casualties also. Dunmore's intent was to divert the attention of the colonists away from independence from Britain by stirring hatred between colonists and Native Americans. Because of the British interests in the battle, some have declared this battle to be the first of the American Revolution; detractors label it the last battle of the border/Indian wars.

Upon Cornstalk's demise as the result of an ambush, he reportedly with his dying breath cursed the area for 200 years. [There is some evidence that the "curse" was actually a fictitious plot element of a local play during the early 1900s.] His "words" spurred many a discussion upon each unfortunate occurrence in the town during that time span, including floods and severe fires that seemed to plague the downtown through the years, up through a cowardly, murderous hostage situation at the Mason County Courthouse in 1976.

Point Pleasant, West Virginia

West Virginia has played host to two famous monsters, both within a span of a dozen years. In 1955, a 12-foot-tall space creature landed in a flying saucer and terrified the town of Flatwoods. And in 1966-67, a monster nicknamed "Mothman" performed a similar frightfest on the citizens of Point Pleasant.

Mothman was made into a Hollywood movie in 2001 and thus is more than a monster -- he's a celebrity.

Mothman arrived in Point Pleasant in November 1966 in classic style, scaring couples in parked cars and eating farmers' dogs. He was described as seven feet tall with a barrel chest and a piercing shriek.

His most memorable features were his ten-foot batlike wings and his huge, red, glowing eyes. And unlike the Flatwoods monster, Mothman didn't spook and run. He hung around for over a year, building an impressive roster of over 100 fear-struck locals who claimed to have encountered him.

Fortean researcher John Keel heard the stories and came to Point Pleasant to see what was happening. He compiled what he found in a 1975 book, The Mothman Prophecies, which was later turned into that 2001 Richard Gere film.

Some people thought that Mothman was a mutant, spawned from local chemical and weapons dumps. Some thought that he was the "the curse of Chief Cornstalk," a Shawnee leader who had been treacherously murdered in Point Pleasant in 1777, and who had finally gotten around to exacting his revenge.

Things got ugly on December 15, 1967, when the Silver Bridge, which connected Point Pleasant to neighboring Kanauga, Ohio, suddenly collapsed into the Ohio River, killing 46 people trapped in rush-hour traffic. Some claimed that the catastrophe was triggered by a sonic boom from Mothman's wings. Others believed that Mothman had been sent to warn the people of Point Pleasant, although his message was obviously lost in translation. Whatever the connection may have been, Mothman disappeared after the bridge fell down. Maybe he simply felt that Point Pleasant had had enough.

Mothman remained an obscure bogeyman until 2001. Then the movie based on John Keel's book, The Mothman Prophecies, came out, and the town realized that this was its one chance to make something good out of its monster. On the day that the film opened, West Virginia's secretary of state announced that Point Pleasant's old KFC would be converted into a Mothman visitors' center, and that a 20-foot-tall Mothman sculpture would be commissioned.

Things didn't turn out quite that grand. In 2002, Point Pleasant held its first Mothman Festival. In 2003, Gunn Park was renamed Mothman Park, and a 12-foot-tall stainless steel sculpture of Mothman was unveiled. It is a unique civic monument, an over-the-top effigy that you'd expect see on the handle of a Barbarian collectibles knife, not on a downtown street in West Virginia. Its football-size red eyes were meant to be lit from behind at night, but sponsorship funding came up a little short.

In 2005 the Mothman Museum and Research Center opened across the street from the statue, run by monster booster Jeff Wamsley. It's a small place, only open on weekend afternoons, but it does display some of the props from the film, and it sells an assortment of Mothman souvenirs. Weekday visitors with an urge for Mothmanabilia can walk a block south to the Harris Steak House, which has its own assortment of t-shirts, books, DVDs, Christmas ornaments, Beany Babies (unofficial), comic books, and license plates for sale.

Even Chief Cornstalk has a memorial in Point Pleasant. A four-ton stone obelisk, marked simply "Cornstalk," stands in Point Pleasant Battlefield State Park down by the river. The Chief's surviving remains -- three teeth and a few bone fragments -- are sealed in the center of the obelisk, perhaps to ensure that his curse is safely locked away.

The only people who don't have much to feel happy about in Point Pleasant are the victims of the Silver Bridge collapse. They have a memorial, too, at the spot where the bridge once entered the town. But their names are inscribed on lowly bricks, and you have to step on them to read the bronze plaque that lists only the names of the town's politicians...Read More

Herald Star...Area commuters and businesses on both sides of the Ohio River received an early Christmas present last week when the Market Street Bridge was re-opened.

The Dec. 7 ceremony marked the completion of renovation project that officials hope will keep the span, which was built in 1905, open until a new bridge can be built between Brilliant and Wellsburg. Motorists have had to endure closures the past two summers while crews made repairs to the bridge towers and Ohio approach spans and trusses. The work included cleaning and painting, the lowering of clearance bars to ensure the 5-ton weight limit is maintained and the installation of decorative lighting.

With the $13.7 million project complete, the convenient connection between downtown Steubenville and Follansbee has been restored. That should come as a relief to businesses, as the length of trips to shop in both communities have been greatly shortened.

Now, I will take you back to Christmas in 1967 which I still remember well.

The Silver City Bridge was built at almost the same time, by the same company, and was constructed using many of the same materials and methods that were used in the construction of the Market Street Bridge in Steubenville, OH.

The Silver Bridge Collapse !!!

On December 15,1967 at approximately 5 p.m., the U.S. Highway 35 bridge connecting Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Kanauga, Ohio suddenly collapsed into the Ohio River. At the time of failure, thirty- seven vehicles were crossing the bridge span, and thirty-one of those automobiles fell with the bridge. Forty- six individuals perished with the buckling of the bridge and nine were seriously injured. Along with the numerous fatalities and injuries, a major transportation route connecting West Virginia and Ohio was destroyed, disrupting the lives of many and striking fear across the nation. The Christmas rush applied an extra load to the 40 year old bridge causing a cleavage fracture in one of the “eyebars”.

This was followed by a ductile fracture near the pin. Unable to support the weight of the entire bridge, the south side chain also snapped.

The structure only took about 1 minute to completely fall into the river below. An investigation, led by John Bennett, immediately followed the collapse of the Silver Bridge.

The bridge was constructed of carbon steel, which tends to crack. Many cracks were found throughout the bridge among extensive corrosion.

The failure resulted from stress corrosion and corrosion fatigue, two concepts which were not known in 1927.

It was also found that the flaw could not have been detected, even by today's methods, unless the bridge was taken apart and tested.In addition to the investigation,
“the federal government mandated the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). The new standards required periodic inspection of all the nation's bridges.”

STEUBENVILLE - Joe DeSantis stood patiently at the corner of Third and Market streets with his camera in hand.

The city's streets and sanitation superintendent had accommodated a request to block off part of South Third Street for a day's filming of the Denzel Washington movie "Unstoppable."

But DeSantis and a reporter were soon asked by a City Police officer to stop taking photos and move away from the corner.

Film crews can be touchy about who is standing near a scene where Denzel Washington and other actors playing railroad workers are riding in a work van for a five second scene on the Market Street bridge.

For a few hours Tuesday Hollywood came to downtown Steubenville as the film makers shot multiple versions of a railroad van filled with workers driving west on the Market Street bridge.

As is so often the case, I honestly have no idea what Sheila Jackson Lee is talking about here. Something to do with Christmas tree lights popping, then the trees burning down in people’s houses, as a result of GOP opposition to the payroll tax cut extension.

As she sees it, the GOP is literally “putting the American people in darkness.”
Apparently the only thing separating working Americans from this cruel fate is an extra $20 per paycheck, at the expense of funding Social Security and Medicare...See the incoherent video here.

Lee is so frustrated, she is even calling on Obama to simply exert executive power to implement the payroll tax cut extension. I’ll have to consult my pocket U.S. Constitution to be certain, but I’m pretty sure he has no such power:

This interview took place back June of 2010, just days after the infamous flotilla incident in which Ron Paul came out against Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip saying that embargoes were an act of war, and charging that Israel was not permitting humanitarian aid in to the people that he described were “almost like in concentration camps”:

I think sanctions, embargoes and boycotts, preventing goods from going in, is actually an act of war. …
I think it’s absolutely wrong to prevent people that are starving and having problems that are almost like in concentration camps and saying “yes we endorse this whole concept that we can’t allow ships to go in there in a humanitarian way”.
I think it’s just terrible and I don’t think we should be part of it. Even though if we weren’t involved I would say nothing. So I think this would be a perfect opportunity to argue the case that, you know, “Israel, if you want to do this, you’re on your own. We’re not backing you up!”

What has he been reading, Palestinian propaganda? He’s not even educated on what is actually going on in the Middle East!

Then, when confronted with the truth that they were allowing humanitarian aid in, but were simply trying to prevent weapons from falling into the hands of Hamas, he defended Hamas as a legitimate government as though they should be allowed to get whatever weapons they want. Unbelievable!

The establishment press will never tell their readers, listeners and viewers that the five best-performing states in job growth through the first eleven months of this year, as well as nine of the top eleven, have relatively conservative Republicans occupying their respective governors’ mansions. If these eleven star performers had only performed as well as the rest of the nation, over 300,000 fewer people would be working, and the unemployment rate would be at least 0.2% higher.

The list, based on date released today by Uncle Sam’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, includes several against which the Obama administration has undertaken significant job-killing or job-deferring actions (i.e., these states have outperformed despite the handicaps, and would have done much better without them):

Nine red states with 21% of the population are responsible for almost one-third of this year’s seasonally adjusted job growth. Only two blue states have been relatively strong contributors. Job growth in the rest of the country has been barely half of that seen in the eleven listed states.

Eric Holder Accomplice To Murder?

Documents obtained by Salt Lake City attorney Jesse Trentadue in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit show then Clinton Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder authorized members of the FBI to provide explosives to Oklahoma City bombing criminals Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols immediately prior to the April, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building.

Holder had authorized the FBI to provide the explosives to McVeigh and Nichols in conjunction with a Clinton Administration undercover operation named PATCON, an acronym for “Patriot Conspiracy.” As Jesse Trentadue describes it, “PATCON was designed to infiltrate and incite… militia[s] and evangelical Christians to violence so that the Department of Justice could crush them.”

Both Waco and Ruby Ridge are now known to have been PATCON inspired, Department of Justice plots.
Shortly after the Oklahoma City bombing, Holder instructed FBI agents to recover from Terry Nichols any remainder of the explosives the Bureau had provided him and McVeigh. To the chagrin of Eric Holder, the explosives were later discovered by another agency, complete with the fingerprints of Nichols, McVeigh and 2 FBI agents. Holder had reportedly offered Nichols respite from the death penalty for his cooperation in recovering the explosives. Obviously the Deputy Attorney General considered covering up his criminal complicity in the bombing eminently worth sparing Nichols just punishment for the murders of 168 innocent Americans.
Jesse Trentadue accidentally came across PATCON while investigating the murder of his brother Kenneth at the hands of the Clinton Department of Justice. An FBI informant familiar with the Oklahoma City bombing story, Kenneth was found hanged in his cell after having been jailed by the FBI. Though an official FBI report had listed Kenneth as a suicide, it was obvious that he had been severely beaten and his throat cut.

Upon Jesse taking the federal government to court, a federal judge ruled that the FBI had not only lied about Kenneth Trentadue’s death, the Bureau was also found guilty of having destroyed evidence concerning the case. In 2001 the Trentadue family was awarded $1.1 million, $250,000 of which remains a reward for information leading to the conviction of Kenneth Trentadue’s killers.

In late November, Newsweek magazine was to run a story revealing the history of PATCON, the Oklahoma City bombing complete with the part played by Eric Holder, the FBI initiated killings at Waco and Ruby Ridge and the subsequent murder of Kenneth Trentadue. But as Mike Vanderboegh, owner of the Sipsey Street Irregulars blog reports, Newsweek senior editor Tina Brown was “convinced” by members of the Clinton and Obama Administrations to remove certain information from the lengthy R M Schneiderman article. So although originally approved for publication by Newsweek editor John Solomon, the article which finally appeared in the magazine had been cut to pieces, undoubtedly providing great relief to Holder, Clinton, Clinton Attorney General Janet Reno and many other current and former members of the Department of Justice.

It hardly needs pointed out that this and other extraordinary stories of corruption and facilitation of murder by the Clinton and Obama Administrations stink to high heaven. Rest assured that we at Coach is Right will continue to pursue the stories of PATCON, Fast and Furious and any other examples of executive branch corruption. It’s doubtful we will want for material.

Twas the night before solstice and all through the co-op
Not a creature was messing the calm status quo up.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
Dreaming of lentils and warm whole-grain breads.
We’d welcomed the winter that day after school
By dancing and drumming, and burning the Yule,
A more meaningful gesture to honor the planet
Than buying more trinkets for Mum or Aunt Janet,
Or choosing a tree just to murder and stump it,
And dress it all up like a seasonal strumpet.

My lifemate and I, having turned down the heat,
Slipped under the covers for a well-deserved sleep,
When from out on the lawn there came such a roar
I fell from my futon and rolled to the floor.
I crawled to the window and pulled back the latch,
And muttered, “Aw, where is that Neighborhood Watch?”

I saw there below through the murk of the night
A sleigh and eight reindeer of non-standard height.
At the reins of that sleigh sat a mean-hearted knave
Who treated each deer like his personal slave.
I’d seen him before in some ads for car loans,
Plus fast food and soft drinks and cellular phones.
He must have cashed in from his mercantile chores,
Since self-satisfaction just ooozed from his pores.

He called each by name, as if he were right
To treat them like humans, entrenching his might:
“Now Donder, now Blitzen,” and other such aliases,
Showing his true Euro-centrical biases.
With a snap of his fingers, away they all flew,
Like lumberjacks served with a plate of tofu.

Up to the roof-top they carried the sleigh.
(The holes in the shingles are there to this day.)
Out bounded the man, who went straight to the flue.
I knew in an instant just what I should do.

After donning my slippers, downstairs did I dash
To see this trespasser emerge from the ash.
His clothes were all covered with soot, but of course,
From our wood-fueled alternative energy source.
Through the grime I distinguished the make of his duds –
He was dressed all in fur, fairly dripping with blood.
“We’re a cruelty-free house!” I proclaimed with such heat
He was startled and tripped on the logs at his feet.

He stood back up dazed, with mirth in his eyes.
It was then that I noticed his unhealthy size.
But that wasn’t all to make sane persons choke:
In his teeth sat a pipe that was belching out smoke!
I could scarcely believe what invaded our house;
This carcinogenic and over-weight louse
Was so red in the face from his energy spent,
I expected a heart attack right there and then.

Behind him he toted a red velvet bag
Full to exploding with sinister swag.
He asked,”Where’s your tree?” with a face somewhat long.
I said, “Out in the yard, which is where it belongs.”
“But where will I put all the presents I’ve bought?”
I looked at him squarely and said, “Take the lot
To some frivolous people who think that they need
To succumb to the sickness of commerce and greed,
Whose only joy comes from the act of consuming,
Thus sending the stock of the retailers booming.”

He blinked and said, “Ho, ho, ho,! But you’re kidding!”
I gave him a stare that was stern and forbidding.
“Surely children need something with which to have fun?
It’s like childhood’s over before it’s begun.”

He looked in my eyes for some sign of assent,
But I strengthened my will and refused to relent.
“They have plenty of fun,” I cut to the gist,
“And your mindless distractions have never been missed.
They take CPR so that they can save lives,
And go door-to-door for the used-clothing drives.
They re-cycle, renew, reuse – and reveal
For saving the planet a laudable zeal.
When they padlock themselves to a fence to protest
Against nuclear power, we think they’re the best.”

He said, “But they’re children – lo, when do they play?”
I countered, “Is that why you’ve driven your sleigh,
To bring joy to the hearts of each child and tot?
All right, open your bag; let’s see what you’ve got.”
He sheepishly did as I’d asked and behold!
A Malibu Barbie in a skirt made of gold.
“You think that my girls will like playing with this,
An icon of sexist, consumerist kitsch?
With its unnatural figure and airheaded grin,
This trollop makes every girl yearn to be thin,
And take up fad diets and binging and purging
Instead of respecting her own body’s urging
To welcome the shape that her body has found
And rejoice to be lanky, short, skinny or round.”

Deep in his satchel he searched for a toy,
Saying, “This is a hit with most little boys.”
And what did he put in my trembling hand
But a gun from the BrainBlasters Power Command!
“It’s a ‘hit,’ to be sure,” I sneered in his face,
“And a plague to infect the whole human race!
How about grenades or some working bazookas
To turn all of our kids into half-wit palookas?”

I seized on his bag just to see for myself
The filth being spread by this odious elf.
An Easy-Bake Oven – ah, goddess, what perfidy!
To hoodwink young girls into household captivity!

Plus an archery play set with shafts that fly out,
The very thing needed, to put your eye out.
And toy metal tractors, steam shovels, and cranes
For tearing down woodlands and scarring the plains,
Plus “games” like Monopoly, Pay Day, Tycoon,
As if lessons in greed can’t start up too soon.
And even more weapons from BrainBlasters Co.,
Like cannons and nunchucks and ray guns that glow.

That’s all I could find in his red velvet sack –
Perverseness and mayhem to set us all back.
(But I did find one book that caused me to ponder –
Some fine bedtime tales by a fellow named Garner.)
“We need none of this,” I announced in a huff,
“No ‘business-as-usual’ holiday stuff.
We sow in our offspring more virtue than this.
Your ‘toys’ offer some things they never will miss.”

The big man’s expression was a trifle bereaved
As he shouldered his pack and got ready to leave.
“I pity the kids who grow up around here,
Who’re never permitted to be of good cheer.
Who aren’t allowed leisure for leisure’s own sake,
But must fret every minute – it makes my heart break!”

“Enough histrionics! Don’t pity our kids
If they don’t do as Macy’s or Toys ‘R’ Us bids.
They live by their principles first and foremost
And know what’s important,” to him did I boast.

“Pray, could I meet them?” “Oh no, they’re not here.
They’re up on the roof, liberating your deer!”
Then Santa sputtered and pointed his finger
But, mad as he was, he had no time to linger.
He flew up on the chimney like smoke from a fire,
And up on the roof I heard voices get higher.

I ran outside the co-op to see him react
To my children’s responsible, kind-hearted act.
He chased them away, and disheartened, dismayed,
He re-hitched his reindeer (who’d docilely stayed).
I watched with delight as he scooted of then.
He’d be too embarrassed to come back again.

But with parting disdain, do you know what he said,
When this overweight huckster took off in his sled?
This reindeer enslaver, this exploiter of elves?

No folks, I am not going to let this one go. Ron Paul's steady approval numbers and massive money bomb capabilities combined with Obama's numbers...dismal as they may seem...add up to a defeat for the GOP candidate in any scenario I can envision. We must not permit this to happen, and Paul's continued presence in this field of candidates must be terminated as soon as possible! Then he can back off, or show his true colors as the spoiler that I believe him to be.

So, the one thing that I absolutely disagree with Ron Paul on is the one thing he says he can probably get done immediately.

The recent drone incident, and Ron Paul’s reaction, should give you an indication of this Paul policy.

Paul says that it’s all just propaganda that Iran is getting close to making a nuclear bomb. Then when an information gathering drone went down over Iran the debate became, in his words, “should we ask for it back, or should we go in and destroy it?”
Paul pulls up his grandpa pants to chest level and shakes a bony fist while croaking, “we shouldn’t ought to be sending those trouble making flying machines over there.”

Well, big brain, how do we determine if Iran’s nuke capabilities is “just propaganda”? Or don’t you even want to know?

See, this is the danger of Ron Paul.

Why don’t you take a big swig of Milk of Magnesia and calm the frig down while the steely-eyed trouble makers protect the world, okay gramps?

You might be a redneck if: You know what you believe and you aren’t afraid to say so, no matter who is listening.

You might be a redneck if: You respect your elders and raised your kids to do the same.

You might be a redneck if: You believe in God & Jesus and believe that others have the right to believe in a different God as long as their God does not command them to kill infidels.
