I enjoyed your recollection of SF. Yup, I have seen some strange stuff in my youth as well..a mango tree in Lake Wales Fl, with balls of light at the tip of each frond that got up and spun in midair was one of the most memorable. Cocaine was the thing in SF, near Haight Ashbury when I was there. I have lost too many friends to count due to drugs, and more "yutes" I see every day are ruined before my eyes. Now I counsel some of the luckier ones when I can.
