Academia Gone Wild

Who's hot for teacher? Looks like the other teacher.

Two female Romance language instructors were tossed out of their Brooklyn high school after being caught "undressed" in an empty classroom, sources told the Daily News Tuesday.

Students at James Madison High School in Midwood were watching a talent show in the auditorium while Alini Brito and Cindy Mauro were speaking the international language of love, sources said.

A janitor stumbled on French teacher Mauro, 33, and Brito, 29, a married Spanish instructor, and tattled to school officials on Nov. 20.

Both tenured teachers were removed from the classroom and sent to Education Department "rubber rooms" while they're investigated for misconduct, sources said.

The episode is the talk of the school. Students even set up a Facebook group to discuss the shenanigans - and it already has more than 500 fans.

"Now you guys wished we installed cameras in our classrooms after all hmm?" wrote one student...(snip)

Students told the Daily News that gossip about the incident was flying around school at a high level, but that other teachers were attempting to put a lid on it.
"The teachers don't even want you to bring it up because they say they'll get in trouble if we're talking about it in class," student Eddie Ramirez said.
"They just say, 'Let it go.'"

FBI agents returned to an elementary school in Brooklyn on Wednesday in an ongoing inquiry into a teacher’s aide who arrested this week on child molestation charges, reports the New York Times. Agents were searching for more victims, according to the Times.

Taleek Brooks, 40, was out on bail after a January arrest for possession of child pornography.

He was arrested again on Monday and charged with producing child porn after agents found videos on his home computer of him engaging students in sexual acts in what appears to be Public School 243, or P.S. 243.

Parents and city education officials met at P.S. 243, in Crown Heights, on Wednesday; parents were sent home with a letter informing them of the aide’s arrest and a number for the FBI.

According to the New York Daily News, Claudia Tillery, 42, was a humanities teacher at the middle school the boy attended. Police sources reportedly told the paper that Tillery and the boy, who is now 14, had been having a sexual relationship since 2009.

The sources said the boy had recently ended the relationship and decided to come forward.

BROOKLYN — A gym teacher at a Prospect Heights high school was arrested Tuesday on sex assault charges, police said.

Esran Boothe, 49, who works at the Brooklyn Academy of Science and the Environment (BASE) on Classon Avenue, was charged with forcible touching and third-degree sexual abuse, the NYPD said.

Information about the victim and the circumstances surrounding the alleged abuse were not immediately clear.

Students at the school had mixed reactions about the arrest.

"He's kind of creepy," said Xzavier Loucks, 16, a sophomore, who claimed to have Boothe as a teacher. "He acts weird every now and then."

As you may have guessed, this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what amounts to Leftist sanctioned abuse in our public schools. There are many more examples just in Brooklyn alone. In most cases it appears that the teachers' unions are not only caught covering up the evidence, but are complicit in the crime to one extent or another.

Former teachers union president Randi Weingarten went to bat for her successor Sunday after a lawsuit charged that when he was a teacher, he had sex on school premises with a guidance counselor.

The suit claims that the United Federation of Teachers made labor concessions to the city to cover up the incident involving Michael Mulgrew, now UFT boss.

“We live in a country where people are allowed to file crazy lawsuits,” Weingarten, now head of the American Federation of Teachers, said in a statement. “I've read through the allegations, and while they could be part of some fictional novel, they are utterly baseless in fact.”

In his suit, Andrew Ostrowsky, a math teacher at Frank Sinatra High School of the Arts in Queens, claims that Mulgrew got caught in flagrante with Emelina Camacho-Mendez in a wood-shop classroom at Brooklyn’s William E. Grady High School...(snip)

The lawsuit alleges that the city used the incident to blackmail the union into making labor concessions. Mulgrew worked part-time for the union in 2004-05.

I suppose this should not be suprising when you consider the dumbing down of our teachers, their students, and even our own representatives on THE HILL.

Members of Congress aren’t sounding any smarter. In fact, the 112th Congress speaks collectively at a 10th grade level, down from that of a high school junior in 2005, according to a Sunlight Foundation study released this week...More at Talking Points Memo

Finally here is the finest example of pure academic ignorance that I have seen in some time. I am sure you have heard this clip of a teacher threatening a student with slander for criticizing Duh Won...However, I am posting it here for posterity. History and those who teach it seems to change every day depending on what is deemed politically correct.

More here frrom the parents of the student involved...

We must hold our teachers and their union bosses accountable for the outrages and abuses that we see in our public schools on a daily basis!

Those Brooklyn schools sound like wild places. How does anyone find time to teach and learn? Oh ... they don't.
