A Big Storm Requires Big Government

NY Times...Disaster coordination is one of the most vital functions of “big government,” which is why Mitt Romney wants to eliminate it. At a Republican primary debate last year, Mr. Romney was asked whether emergency management was a function that should be returned to the states. He not only agreed, he went further.

“Absolutely,” he said. “Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that’s the right direction. And if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector, that’s even better.”...

I say a big vacum in the halls of power requires a big man to fill the void!

“Obama is is a weak little man whose only saving grace is his laziness, while Romney’s greatest strength, his executive competence, only makes him the more dangerous candidate for the country.” Vox Day

Which man would you prefer to hold the power of life and death in his hands – the Choomba King, or the aggressive go-getter? Just a thought.

We are survivors and we can overcome fallen trees, power outages, and yes even loss of life due to unforseen circumstances. Big Government will never save you. It can lick your wounds and throw a portion of your own money back to you. However, you will always pay dearly for their "compassion" and their intervention.

"The natural progress of things is for liberty to yeild,[1] and government to gain ground." - Thomas Jefferson to Edward Carrington, Paris, May 27, 1788[2]
