(CBS) DETROIT - The newly elected state assembly in Michigan includes at least one ex-con: Brian Banks, who's been convicted eight times for felonies involving bad checks and credit card fraud, won a seat representing the east side of Detroit, Harper Woods, and the tony Grosse Pointes, CBS Detroit reports..

Banks, 35, was convicted eight times between 1998 and 2004 of writing bad checks and credit card fraud. His slogan was "You can Bank on Banks."

Ironic, no?

The 35-year-old Democrat and lifelong Detroiter, got 68 percent of the vote to Republican Dan Schulte's 32 percent, according to CBS Detroit.

"It's time to elect a leader, with experience and passion, who will fight for you," Banks wrote on his website.

Michigan voters approved a constitutional amendment in 2010 that bans anyone convicted of a felony in the last 20 years from running for office - but the caveat is the conviction has to be "related to the person's official capacity while holding any elective office." This was Banks' first run for elected office.

 

He's a true representative of his constituency, you have to give him that.

 

 

A Cook County judge who was re-elected Tuesday despite being suspended from the bench appeared in court a few hours later as a defendant in a battery case that her attorney said should be tossed because his client was "legally insane" at the time.

Judge Cynthia Brim, 54, whose 18-year tenure has been marked by controversy, told reporters as she left a criminal courtroom Wednesday at 26th and California that she was pleased by the election results, which she watched at home Tuesday night.

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Amid reports that he may have misused campaign funds, Illinois congressman Jesse Jackson Jr has hired a lawyer to handle negotiations with the federal government on possible plea deal in which he would resign from the House of Representatives and spend time in prison, media said....Chicago Tribune

A controversial “violence tax” on guns in the Chicago area was approved Friday by Cook County commissioners, NBCChicago.com reported.

The $25 tax on every gun purchased in the county — city law prohibits gun sales in Chicago – is meant to offset health care and other costs of gun violence, Board President Toni Preckwinkle said.

Detroit for the fourth year in a row, is ranked as the "most dangerous city" in America according to Forbes online.

The statistics indicate that Detroit suffered about 2,137 acts of violent crime per 100,000 residents. However, when we rank the extraordinary crime levels for each of these 'dangerous' cities, we noticed a startling trend in our quick research, and we weren't the only ones who noticed it, apparently.

You see, each of these cities has one commonality being that each is also led by a Democrat Mayor, and these days you know what Democrat actually means....

"Liberal."

Indeed, if insanity is defined as doing the same things over and over again while expecting different results, then these residents of the most dangerous cities must simply adore the crime waves they're enduring.

Attorney General Eric Holder was notified in late summer that then-CIA Director David Petraeus' name had surfaced in the FBI probe that ultimately uncovered Petraeus' affair, raising questions about whether Holder would have -- or should have -- informed President Obama.

According to the administration's version of events, the president did not find out about the situation until last Thursday. At the time that Holder was notified, months earlier, many details were still unknown. Petraeus himself was not interviewed until the fall. And according to one source, it is long-standing FBI policy for the FBI not to brief Congress or the White House in the middle of a criminal probe that does not involve a security threat.

Northeast residents are getting a dose, and as you may have guessed, it’s not exactly a fun-filled party with treats, air conditioning and group dancing.

Sotelo scrolls through the photos he took inside the facility as his wife, Renee, huddles for warmth inside a late-model Toyota Corolla stuffed with possessions, having to drive out through the snow and slush to tell their story. The images on the small screen include lines of outdoor portable toilets, of snow and ice breaching the bottom of the tent and an elderly woman sitting up, huddled in blankets.

The agenda no longer needs to be hidden from public view. With President Obama winning another term and democrats taking control of the Senate, the move to fundamentally change America from within has begun – with a vengeance.

We’re all aware of the restrictive gun laws in the State of California which require low capacity magazines for handguns, fixed magazines for “assault” rifles, and a whole lot of running around just to be granted the right to carry a concealed firearm.

Now, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who has championed gun control in her state for decades and co-wrote the original assault weapons ban enacted by the federal government in the 1990′s, wishes to bring even more stringent federal mandates to the land of the free.
What is being proposed by Feinstein is the most significant attack on the second amendment in history.

 

It would essentially ban thousands of firearms and require gun owners to turn them over to the Federal government.

I don’t have the minutes of the meeting (yet), but sources tell me California Senator and longtime gun-hater Dianne Feinstein’s legal staff held meetings on Friday with FTB/ATF legal staff to discuss a new “Assault Weapons Ban”

This same “pretty good intelligence” says the items that would lead to a ban would ban pistol grips and “high-capacity” magazines, eliminate any grandfathering and ban sales of “weapons in possession”.

I don’t know about you, but if these things come to pass and I’m “in possession” I’m certainly not selling.

In fact, the lack of interest in the idea surprised the California liberal’s legal staffers. Apparently, they believe no logical person could possible disagree with them.

I began receiving the first reports of increases in gun buying by people concerned about tomorrow’s election. Dealers in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Indiana all tell me there hasn’t been a huge number of buyers expressing those concerns, but the numbers were noticeable.

Among that group -and the majority of “regular” purchasers- the core driving most of the purchasing seem to be in their mid-to-late 30s. Again, home and personal defense are the most frequently cited reasons for buying.

At a Congressional budget meeting in September of this year, Feinstein alluded to her desire to reintroduce federal assault weapons ban regulations similar to those she helped cosponsor and pass in 1994 during the Presidency of Bill Clinton:

“Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to say, once again, in legislation, weapons of war do not belong on our streets…”September 5, 2012

Is it any wonder that shares of stocks like Smith & Wesson and Ruger surged this morning in response to President Obama winning a second term?

While the majority of stocks across the world are in the midst of a sell-off and economic conditions indicate the country is in a recession, America’s gun owners aren’t waiting to see what happens next.

Senator Feinstein is serious, and despite this most recent report appearing only as a rumor, her comments earlier this year and her actions two decades ago, should leave no question as to where this is headed.

(Reuters) - Hours after U.S. President Barack Obama was re-elected, the United States backed a U.N. committee's call on Wednesday to renew debate over a draft international treaty to regulate the $70 billion global conventional arms trade.

U.N. delegates and gun control activists have complained that talks collapsed in July largely because Obama feared attacks from Republican rival Mitt Romney if his administration was seen as supporting the pact, a charge Washington denies.

The month-long talks at U.N. headquarters broke off after the United States - along with Russia and other major arms producers - said it had problems with the draft treaty and asked for more time.

But the U.N. General Assembly's disarmament committee moved quickly after Obama's win to approve a resolution calling for a new round of talks March 18-28. It passed with 157 votes in favor, none against and 18 abstentions.

I felt that we were in trouble in this election for the past two weeks, but it really hit me yesterday afternoon after I left the polls and heard the local Obama zombies discussing their lives. Most were in fear of losing their "FREE STUFF".

 

One young black man, wearing gangsta colors and gear, was on the phone with one of his peeps. He told his brother that he had a lot of "work" (slang for crack) to do and that he had better get over to his crib and get somethin' done. They joked about changing shifts from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm because the "po po" were on their backs.

 

Then the thug I was next to on the bus told his brother that he better get downtown to the polls and vote. I don't think that his friend wanted to bother. The man told him that he has to work within the system in order to change it.

...Sound advice if somewhat subversive in nature...

 

He said that if their boy (Obama) didn't win they were going to be forced to start stealing again and that they would go to prison. He stated that Romney would take all their entitlements away and they would be out of business. He would have to go out and buy them both passports.

 

The sad fact is that he is not alone. A large portion of the drug slingers depend on welfare and Social Security recipients for their livelihood...as do the loan sharks and the used furniture dealers in town. No joke...I hear these people talking every day and they have no shame to their game.

 

They want this slavery to the state to continue so that they, in turn, may continue to enslave others.

 

I watched in horror as busloads of the obviously dependant class began to arrive at the polling station.

 

 

 

This is being replayed in urban centers around this nation.

 

 

 

With Mitt Romney’s projected defeat in the presidential race tonight, Americans are very clearly divided into two camps.

 

 

 

The first camp is those who want a country of unending bailouts, of free giveaways, of government-provided goods and services – a camp of Americans who want to forfeit the future to guarantee ease and comfort in the present. The second camp is those who understand that that world is unsustainable, who recognize that freedom is the only guarantor of the present and the future...(snip)

The Democrat-Media Complex, as Andrew Breitbart labeled the nexus between the Democrats and their journalistic guardians, must be defeated. So must their educators in the university system; so, too, must their allies in Hollywood, who change culture in order to change politics.

And the fight against liberalism does not end. Tonight was a loss for conservatism. But it was a reminder that America is not a liberal country. It is a country that is split down the middle. And that gap is growing wider. The only way to rectify the breach is to fight for unification under basic constitutional principles.

We will not heel. We will not stop. The defeat of Barack Obama would have launched the beginning of America coming together. But apparently, liberal America prefers to battle for the soul of the country.

And so we battle.

Democracy works. We still believe in democracy. We still believe in the power of ideas. But the only way to win in the battle of ideas is to fight the bullies, as Andrew did. Democracy is not blood; that’s a miracle. But the civil war for the heart and soul of this country is real.

We’ve made gains; perhaps we will even win the popular vote. In any case, the election of 2012 was not the election of 2008. But the battle has only just started.

The war begins now.

I am sorry to report that three of my conservative blogger friends have decided to give up the fight today alone. One who I respect highly is She of the Fuzzy Slippers. She will be sadly missed.

One thing we must admit...As I reformat my blog for the ongoing battle with the Lefties over the next four years...I will have an extremely target rich environment in which to work. I intend to expose this corrupt regime and their media lapdogs at every turn. My children and grandchildren deserve no less.

A rep from Jarrett office was in today. She gave us a finish line pep talk and then afterwards, heard her saying how Jarrett is very excited about a 2nd term agenda and a big part of that agenda is to punish everyone who opposed them during the first term and the campaign.

Strange that everything was “Ms. Jarrett wants this, and Ms. Jarrett is looking forward to that”.
 
You hardly heard Obama’s name mentioned by her which I guess reinforces what people are saying. Valerie Jarrett really is the power in the White House. I know that when her representative showed up it was like royalty was visiting. All the big dogs were lined up to meet her and acting real friendly and they gave us a heads up an hour before and told us we better “put on a good show” while she was here.

The part that really stuck out to me was when I overheard the rep say that Jarrett told them,

“After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time.

Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don’t forget.

The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve.

There is going to be hell to pay.

Congress won’t be a problem for us this time.

No election to worry about after this is over and we have two judges ready to go.” 

She was talking directly to about three of them. Sr. staff. And she wasn’t trying to be quiet about it at all. And they were all listening and shaking their heads and smiling while she said it!

Obama Twists The Knife On His Way Out The Door

 

As if he hasn't done enough to strangle US energy production, Dear Leader has tasked his minions at the EPA to crush what is left of the the coal industry on his way out. The new proposals are slated to go into effect during the (hopefully) upcoming lame duck presidency. The cost will be an estimated 10 Billion Dollars per year for US citizens, just for this proposal alone. This new regulatory nightmare is; as I have discovered; also illegal under existing legislation. It is required by law to disclose to the American public, any and all proposed new regulations before Oct. 31st. The lawless Obuma regime failed to meet that deadline...So what else is new.

 

If you thought the War on Coal and various other job dampening EPA initiatives over the past few years were bad, apparently that was only a skirmish compared to what’s in store after this Tuesday. At the Examiner, Conn Carroll has the inside scoop on how Santa’s little elves at Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency have been very busy lately. But you might not care for the presents they have in mind for us all.

President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency has devoted an unprecedented number of bureaucrats to finalizing new anti-coal regulations that are set to be released at the end of November, according to a source inside the EPA.

More than 50 EPA staff are now crashing to finish greenhouse gas emission standards that would essentially ban all construction of new coal-fired power plants. Never before have so many EPA resources been devoted to a single regulation. 
 

The independent and non-partisan Manhattan Institute estimates that the EPA’s greenhouse gas coal regulation will cost the U.S. economy $700 billion.

Carroll goes on to speculate that the mad dash is a result of panic at the agency over the possibility that Obama may lose the election. Was this a another case of PC rules of engagement being enforced by the Jihadi friendly Obama regime?

Or was it a case of the corrupt military establishment and the corporate generals in charge at NATO conspiring with the Taliban to drive what forces we have left out of the fight on the front lines? This is occurring just as we scale down our strike force for the winter "lull in the fighting".

I am posting this now, as I have noticed that neither the MSM or most of the sites that I visit have paid much notice to this incursion. This just happened post 9/11/2012; and after the disasterous Libyan Benghazigate affair

Late on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, a Taliban insurgent force of sappers attacked the NATO ISAF base, Camp Bastion, in Afghanistan, resulting in the worst loss of U.S. airpower in a single incident since the Vietnam War.

Two Marines, including VMA-211’s commanding officer, were killed in the attack, and nine other personnel (eight military and one contractor, reportedly) were wounded.

By the time the base was secured roughly five hours later, six U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) AV-8B+ Harrier “jump jets” had been destroyed, and two more “significantly” damaged.

In addition, three refueling points were destroyed, and six “soft-skinned” aircraft hangers were damaged to some degree. As a result of this attack, the air strength of Marine Attack Squadron 211 (VMA-211 – “The Avengers”) presumably 10 aircraft, was almost completely destroyed.

Camp Bastion is a British-run ISAF base in Helmand Providence northwest of Lashkar Gah, built adjacent to Camp Leatherneck (the primary USMC base in the area) and Camp Shorabak (run by the Afghan National Army).

Equipped with a 3,500-meter (11,482 foot) runway and servicing up to 28,000 personnel, it is the largest British base in Afghanistan. One of them, on Sept. 14, was an AH-64 Apache crewman named Capt.“Wales,” otherwise known as Harry, Prince of Wales.

Along with the British Apaches and other U.K. aircraft, Camp Bastion also provides basing for USMC aviation units, including VMA-211, the only Harrier squadron then in Afghanistan.

The attack on Camp Bastion began at around 10:00 PM local time, when about 20 Taliban fighters approached the perimeter, disguised in U.S. battle dress uniforms. One of the Taliban used his explosive suicide vest to blow a hole in the perimeter fence, which reportedly allowed three five-man sapper squads into the secured areas of the base. Armed with AK-47s, RPG-7s and explosive suicide vests, the Taliban fighters flooded into the U.S. area known as Camp Barber...

America's most prominent, dedicated communists support Barack Obama and are actively campaigning on his behalf. If that sentence makes you uncomfortable, then you have two choices: continue reading and face your fear, or stop reading and get back to whatever activities you normally use to drown out disturbing thoughts.

In an age of mass media disinformation and distraction, one expects the politically neutered majority to find the legitimate vocabulary of open political discussion -- freedom, communism, socialism, oppression -- uncomfortable and strange. 

These words disturb their moral tranquility -- that sense of "no big deal" normalcy that allows them to carry on with everyday activities, unperturbed by the kinds of questions that make prime-time entertainment seem...well, like a waste of time...(snip)

Let us keep this short, simple, and, in the name of social justice, gender-equalized.

Angela Davis was the Communist Party USA's vice presidential candidate in 1980 and 1984 and is a former Black Panther. In 1979, the Soviet Union awarded her its Lenin Peace Prize. 

(I kid you not; they also made her an honorary professor at Moscow State University.) 

Davis spoke in Detroit on October 25. One of the local dignitaries there to prepare the audience for her remarks was Congressman John Conyers, who noted the timeliness of Davis' appearance on a "night where we not only remember history but plan how we're going to make history...Dr. Davis, you're right on time!"

CPUSA reporter Mark Walton informs us that the focus of Davis's speech was the election.  

Attempting to battle the disappointment some of her comrades have expressed regarding the rate of progress in implementing the Obama agenda they voted for in 2008, she urged, "As we go to the polls, let us recall that no one thought it was possible to elect a black president."
 
She then pleaded for patience with Obama's practical implementation of the program, noting that "we should never expect to elect a president to lead us to the Promised Land...we have to do it for ourselves."

After thus defending Obama and urging her audience to vote for him, as well as offering the obligatory condemnation of "Israeli apartheid," she concluded by declaring that "we need peace, justice, equality, and socialism for us all."

"Socialism for us all" -- that's her final, bottom-line argument for getting out and voting for Barack Obama.

Going "forward." How about that?

For the umpteenth time, the question for all those considering voting for Obama who do not actively support the intentional overthrow of the American constitutional republic in favor of an openly socialist authoritarian regime is a simple one: "Why do you think the leadership of the Communist Party USA is out in the battleground states during these final days of the campaign, aggressively stumping for Obama?"

The answer, of course, is self-evident, as well as being explicitly and repeatedly stated by the communists themselves: they believe that Obama's agenda is the most practical means to the socialist workers' state.

A final question for the non-America-hating Obama "moderates": "If the CPUSA's longstanding party-line judgment on Obama is correct -- that is, if his agenda really is the surest path to communism -- why are you still supporting him?"

If you believe that the communists are completely misjudging Obama, and that his platform is not actually consistent with their goals, then I challenge you to take a look at their own case for his agenda and try to disprove their assessment. The same challenge goes out to all those in the Republican establishment who have spent the last four years inventing a new euphemistic vocabulary in order to escape the uncomfortable demands of correct English.
