The Feigned Leftist Outrage

Sheila Jackson Lee is against this Debt ceiling deal.

Nancy Pelosi is against this deal.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is against it.

The NY Times, The Washington Post, and other Leftist media outlets all seem to despise this deal, calling it a win for Tea Party Hobbits.

WHY??? Because it would establish a bi-partisan commission for the single purpose of reducing spending, and balancing the budget.
They also will not tolerate any possible extension of the dreaded Bush tax cuts.

Here is where I must quote Ronald Reagan---

"And I have to point out that government doesn't tax to get the money it needs, government always needs the money it gets."

and here, I am paraphrasing---

"When you want to make sure that a problem does not get addressed, just appoint a commission."

Here are two more Leftist Moonbat sources of the disingenuous Leftist opposition. I don't believe a word of it. If it is a political win for Obummer...and it is...they will just have to choke it down and live with it.

MoveOn.Org against debt deal

The Hill/Ballot Box--Liberal group MoveOn.Org on Monday announced its opposition to the debt-ceiling deal negotiated by President Obama with Democratic and Republican congressional leaders.
"This is a bad deal for our fragile economic recovery, a bad deal for the middle class and a bad deal for tackling our real long-term budget problems. It forces deep cuts to important programs that protect the middle class, but asks nothing of big corporations and millionaires. And though it does not require cuts to Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid benefits, it opens the door for these down the road via an unaccountable Congressional committee," said MoveOn.Org Executive Director Justin Ruben.
"We surveyed our 5 million members and the vast majority oppose the deal because it unfairly asks seniors and the middle class to bear the burden of the debt deal. Congress should do what it should have done long ago and what it has done dozens of times before — pass a clean debt ceiling bill."
MoveOn is one of the first major liberal organizations to come out against the compromise, while a slew of conservative groups including the Club for Growth have already bashed the deal. Their opposition will further shrink the eye of the needle congressional leaders must thread to pass the agreement by making some liberal Democrats less likely to vote for the deal.

The Hill--Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) on Monday said that he would be voting against the debt-ceiling increase deal saying it was “gained by extortion and a weak defense.”
“While I will not support the proposed ‘compromise’ gained by extortion and a weak defense, my constituents will have to live with the consequences of a bad deal should it pass the House and the Senate today as expected,” Jackson said in a statement.
Jackson said that minorities and women would suffer most from the deal.
“With regard to raising the debt ceiling, Democrats were left with two raw choices: (1) a job killing default according to Boehner; or (2) a job killing austerity from my perspective. And who will suffer the most under the apparent winner of the job killing austerity plan? Those who are already suffering the most under present conditions — African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans and women,” Jackson continued.

Neither do I. They got most of what they want--a new credit card. They know they will sign it. These are all words for their "poor, victimized" constituents.
