The Feministas Roll Out

This weekend I suffered through a speech by Gloria Steinem made in honor of Anita Hill and the 20 year anniversary of her attack on Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas...Video Here...Steinem's remarks at 46:44

As Steinem made her lecture it became clear that her focus was on targeting the "Right Wing Extremists in the Tea Party" for supporting everything from racism to supporting the abuse of women and gays. She also went on to say that the Right Wing has assumed that they have "an inherent right to rule the nation".

At 54:46...She struck her point home by stating that she could imagine what it would be like to be in the military with a man like Clarence Thomas commanding you and holding a gun on you.

"It has been 20 years since law professor Anita Hill riveted the nation with charges of sexual harassment against her former boss and then-U.S. Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, allegations that spawned fierce debate over gender discrimination, race and sex.

But the passage of two decades has failed to dim the outrage of the South Carolina women who on Oct. 20 are presenting, for the 20th year, the “We Believe Anita Hill” party. This year, Hill herself is guest of honor.

“I think the most important thing is we need to keep the memory of what has happened alive, not only the harassment but the way Professor Hill was treated in the (Senate) hearings,” said Barbara Rackes, a Columbia businesswoman and one of the hosts for the event.

Hill is spending two days in Columbia in recognition of the 20th anniversary of the October 1991 hearings before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

Thomas, who vehemently denied that he harassed Hill, charged that the hearings amounted to a “high-tech lynching for uppity blacks.” He was eventually confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court by the full Senate and remains there today."

For those of you with a more Libertarian bent, I am sorry to say it, but I really fail to see what the radical feminist movement has accomplished for women, or for our society in general. This is just another hate-filled, victim's entitlement movement.

Just as with the race baiters in academia and the lame stream media, the Leftist activists who continue to carry on in this divisive manner are only in this fight in order to aggrandize and enrich themselves. Their continued relevancy is at stake and the truth matters not...only their continued demonizing of white men and conservatism.
