(Politico) — Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) hailed the reported death of Muammar Qadhafi as a “victory” for President Obama.

“This is a victory for the president, the Obama administration but most importantly” for the Libyan people, McCain said on Fox News Thursday morning.
At the time that the senator make these remarks, the White House had not yet confirmed reports of the former Libyan ruler’s death.
McCain said he believed “there’s very little doubt” that Qadhafi had been killed.
