One More Milestone

Today I am departing from the road most traveled on my blog in order to mark a spot on this path that I travel through life.

Last month on 9/26/11 I marked the two year milestone on my blogging career with my 1250th post on this site alone! This will be remembered in internet history as a momentous period in time..."a Truly Historic and Unprecedented Achievement" for the ages...sic...

Well maybe not, but as I have seen others in my sphere recently marking similar milestones...so I shall mark my territory in this fashion as well!

The image above is of one milestone that can be found on the National Road, or Pike that winds through our nation and right past me.
Here is one more strange one on that road.

And here is Milestone Zero

As you know, milestones have been used throughout history to mark significant destinations and to act as a form of global positioning for traveling settlers and for legions of troops marking time and distance.
One more from National Road...

Here is one marker that I hope not to plant for some time to come, but I have a deep and abiding respect for the man who did erect this stone. I only hope to leave my mark on this world in as resounding a fashion as he did!

Congrats on your two year anniversary, Scott! Excellent milestone, as are the ones you showed in this post.

Many thanks Bunni. I just love these old historical sites. I have visited many in my travels. I especially like the covered bridges that are left here. My grandfather took me over a few of them.
